In the 1970’s, caravans of travelers seeking adventure drove across the then open borders of central Asia and through Afghanistan into India. Along with them came the Hippies in search of peace, spirituality and cheap cannabis. Many of these folks ended their journeys in Goa. They converged at the beautiful beaches of North Goa.
The caravans have long gone, so have the Hippies. But a few of these areas still do not have direct road access.
The Hippie Trail takes you back in time. Across the plateau, through the forests and seasonal stream then along the cliff overlooking beautiful views of the ocean
Moderately intense, the 6 km trail goes across a land not changed in time.
Location – North Goa
Distance – 6 km
Duration – 3.5 – 4 hours
Intensity – moderate
Fitness level required – you should be able to walk 5km in one hour and be able to climb 4 floors of stairs at a stretch without a break.
ENTERING THE OCEAN IS NOT A PART OF THIS TREK. IF YOU DO VENTURE IT’S AT YOUR OWN RISK
All adventure sports carry an inherent element of risk and are dependent on weather and prevailing conditions. The decision of our Trek Leaders to alter routes, shorten treks, or cancel is final in the interest of safety.
