Kumaon, known for its greenery, undulating meadows, and vast Kharaks (clearings) is a treat to the senses and the Ranthan Kharak trek truly portrays the region’s essence. Along the trek, you get to see many beautiful mountain ranges like Mt. Nanda Devi and Nanda Devi East, Nanda Kot, Mt. Mrigthuni, Mt. Dangthal, and the Panchachuli Range with its five majestic peaks.
Apart from mountain views, the trek takes you through some of the most dense forests of Kumaon and it’s a great opportunity to witness the rich biodiversity of the region. The trek is also popular for its clearings or ‘Kharak’ in the local language and we camp in these beautiful clearings along our way. If you are someone who enjoys being in nature and likes to dive into offbeat adventures, this trek is definitely the right choice for you.
